Lozin Nylund Carleton
"Untitled", Digital Art
Lozin Nylund-Carleton is working towards her bachelor’s fine arts degree in Studio Arts with a focus on painting. Her mediums consist of acrylic paint and acrylic-based paint markers. In her piece Sunset she depicts the earthly vibrations she imagines traveling into our atmosphere. The vibrations consist of indigenous petroglyphs found in New Mexico, spirals that depict the journey of life, and references to her Dutch ancestry. She includes the sun, the moon, and a spiritual orb all representing the God and goddesses she feels a strong connection with. There are references to the land and the paths we have created. Juniper berries are in the bottom left corner and a traditional teepee is in the center. Lozin often Looks up to the sky while her feet are grounded in the earth for guidance from her ancestors, the earthly vibrations that flow down from the heavens into the earth and up through her body as living truth, with this power guides her through her life, towards her truth.
